Mid Valley TA Meeting
OKAY....So I've heard from a few that would like to have a Mid Valley TA meeting on the Julie Rose. So let me hear from some locals as to when, and how many. Remember, the boat will handle about 14 plus hosts. Any more than that may get wet

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Oh sheesh, I started the same thread without realizing you had, Bruce! Sorry......here's my post:
-------------------
Hi All, after discussion with a number of folks, we have interest in a tunaholics meeting in the mid/south Willamette Valley area, or at least enough interest to throw the question out to y'all.
I'll start by proposing Sunday March 9th.
Time: start late afternoon?
Location: Corvallis / Albany area. Specific location to be determined based on expected number.
Let's hear some feedback about this day & time. Preference for weekend vs weekday? Following weekend better?
How about it Orca, Fishwhenican, Popeye, Seasquid & other OSU folks, HP folks lurking, Newport guys, & any others??
As an added incentive, I will offer **door prizes** (not guaranteed to catch fish!) from my fishing "closet", which my wife says has way too much stuff inside.
Thanks..........Mark
p.s. This is meant to compliment the PDX area meetings, not compete with it. The more the merrier, especially if you want to drive from far away.

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Popeye,
It would be great to be your guest on the Julie Rose. Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be the only days possible for me. I am so excited about the possibility of catching my first Tuna I could attend TA meetings weekly.
I would also be interested in an event located in the Valley so what ever is decided I'm there if you have room for me.

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
I am up for both an evening aboard the Julie Rose and/or a valley get togeather. Weekdays are best for me but I will skew my time for a weekend meet! One or both sound great!

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Yes!!! Sweet Home to Hillsburrito is not necessarily my favorite drive. Doing it during rush hour means you are certifiably wacko, unless it is to attend a TA meeting. Then it's absolutely justifiable.
But one on the coast - practically in my back yard - with the sounds of the water slapping up against the hull and the smell of the crab processing plants - hooooboy, that will definitely get the juices flowing.
Count me in!!!

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Mark.......sign me up for the meeting and let me know if you need me to bring anything. We need to get an order in for some new fishtraps and that might be a good time to get a group order together.
Bruce.......would love to take a tour of your boat and see your set-up, although its always a little scary to see someone with more and bigger toys. Is your boat a permanent resident in Newport?? Still at the end of the dock??. If you have a video player on the boat, I have a classic tuna tape that the tuna holics would enjoy. Almost anytime is good for me as I need to go back to Englund Marine anyway. So pick a date and count me in.

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Why don't I bring my trailer over and park it at South Beach for the weekend. I could bunk up probably half a doz and it might make it easier for those who wanted to stay over night and not have the expense or hassle of a motel.

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
I think the group is now maxed out. We can start a "standby" list, if anyone cancels, or if the weather forecast looks beautiful the day before and we can spill (people, not beer) onto the deck.

fishplay
WP (2)
skein (2)

total of 14 in addition to the skipper; this was the planned max.

If it's one weekend either side, Pilar and I can probably (almost definitely - I just need to check with him) make it.
Unless 2 spaces open up definitely, put us on "standby" please?
Thanks!

Bruce, if your mother-in-law is coming, what does that say about when you should be out of the house, on the boat?
OK, let's work on a re-schedule. Stay tuned...

The weekends before or after would even be be better for us. We could tow the trophy over and try to pick up some early crab for the festivities.

We have to do a re-set on the plan. Please go to the other (new) thread: Tunaholics in Newport, take 2
and let us know if you prefer March 1st or March 15th. Also info on additional meeting space.
thanks..........Mark Mc (& Popeye by proxy)

Re: Mid Valley TA Meeting
Mark, Bruce, I can't make Saturday. Vacation days are just too precious with a new boat to put hours on. Maybe next month. Thursdays and Fridays are good.
It is very nice of you to offer though. I'm sure you will all have a great time.

Popeye,
Great idea, but the kids are mine that weekend, too. Maybe we could cart them along... Beg a place at a friend's place at the coast. Hmmm...
Guess we'd better get the projects finished in a hurry so we'll be freed up to play a little
