Question Thawing Fish Question

After removing Vacuum packed bottom fish from the freezer to thaw in the refrigerator, how many days would it still be safe for consumption?

If the seal is still good (ie, it's still vacuumed) I've used fish 4 or 5 days after I've taken it out of the freezer with no ill effects and no tainted flavor. But, that's including refrigerated thawing time.

It's as good as it was when you froze it. Figure 5 days max for fresh fish in the fridge if you keep the air off it. Vacuum sealed is actually the best way to do this.

I try to freeze any fish for long term storage the same day I caught it.

Use the sniff test, it it smells ok, then go ahead and cook it!
If there is just a little smell, maybe rinse it with lemon or lime juice before you cook it.

Should be just fine.

But do use the smell test.
