I just mow my garden. Works everytime. Gotta say there is nothing better than fresh produce on the dinner table. Yum!

Those raised beds look good Calvin, I bet they were heavy moving into place

It isnt pretty but, I had to put a barrier up to keep my dog out of the garden when it was smaller, some pink flagging ribbon did the job.

Here is the corn patch

Most of the rest of the garden.....

Have you thought about adding some type of stepping stone? Good work so far, looks like there is plenty of sweat equity built in.

No Stain or treated lumber has been used. The Patina you see is moisture from watering. I am waiting for the new lumber to bleach out a bit more this summer before I will apply an organic or food-safe oil protectant.

I also plan to cover the beds over the winter to extend growing season as well as protect agains winter's rains washing away soil nutrients and graying the lumber's finish. All the posts are set on masonary bick foundations to protech against rot and the beds are surrounded by drainage rock to sloped to landscape drains.

No stepping stones, rather just good thick covering of Norweigen Fir bark mulch to keep weeds and wood slivers in our feet at bay. The darker mulch color of the Norway fir provides a distinct and rich contract to highlight the lawn, landscape plans, and raised beds.

I'm too embarassed to post a picture right now!! We were gone for a week, and it needs some serious maintenance before it's photo-worthy. But I'll post as soon as I have a chance to clean it up a bit!

OK.

Here is a shot of our lettuce plant.

The seedling must have fallen out the Master window early in the season when a tray was there and onto the dirt strip on basically the only section of house that had no plant life.

Alrighty then.

Here are a few more.

It is indeed an awesome growing year for tomatoes!

And while this is more a food theme (and there are more tomotoes here), there are lots of flowers in the yard as well.

And not to forget the herb garden growing on the front porch. Nothing like a fresh pinch into the recipes:

It feels like living in the land of the giants around here this summer!
