Kudos to Joe's!
In recent past, Joe's has really gotten hammered on this board, so I thought I'd share a positive experience. Almost exactly two years ago I bought a Trojan marine battery. Recently I discovered that would not hold a charge. So, I took it in to Joe's with the expectation that I'd have to buy a new one. I did not have a receipt, but the date was punched on the battery. I very nicely explained to them that it would not hold a charge and I thought that a battery of that quality should last much longer than two years if properly cared for. A couple reps discussed it and they agreed - they decided a straight across exchange would be the way to go. I expressed my appreciation to both of them. Then went to the tackle department to pick up some things that I hadn't planned on purchasing.
Huge thanks to Joe's.

Re: Kudos to Joe's!
I am a frequent user of their 20%-30% off coupons through various sources (such as through IFISH ). I visited and shop during the sidewalk sale events through the years and found bargains.
Occasionally I have to make returns without receipts. There were no problem, they issued store credit and I was able to get other useful items beside sproting goods.
Thanks JOE's for the good services .

I too have noticed a slight upward trend of better cutomer service but a lot of the old staff seem to be kind of resisting. I just wish they'd do a better job of stocking their shelves.

Re: Kudos to Joe's!
That's great !
They always treat me well, last week I took back 2 reels that decided to stop working properly ( I still had the boxes)....The only question asked by Doug at the Field and Stream counter was if I would like him to transfer the line from the old reels to the new ones.
Good service.
Ken

Re: Kudos to Joe's!
Got a great deal on a dog collar a few months ago with some talking too and the manager that night. The other night they gave me the stapler instead of the fishing tackle i bought.

Re: Kudos to Joe's!
Ilike joe's the only problem I have ever had was when I was looking for a softball bat for my daughter they didnt have one the size she needed in the price range I was looking in, so we spent more. I told her I wanted a home run with the price I payed, I didnt get one in regular season , but now in post season all stars I am hopeful once again.

I quit shopping there when they took the G.I. out of their name. Have not gone back since.

Re: Kudos to Joe's!
Im in Albany and with gas prices I dont have anywhere else to shop for gear.
I find them to be adiquate and really enjoy the old guys in the fishing dept. Dont know their names but I like the stories and the knowledge. Bimart used to be cheaper but that has changed in the last 5-10 years.

Ask them what a Spey rod is. Very entertaining!
