70 boats from Newport. When I crossed the bridge at 6 am there were only about 10 trailers at South Beach

70 boats to 60 nm? Hope the fuel dock got a couple deliveries. I highly doubt that 70 boats went out over the entire coast today given the thin reports so far.

I fished out of Newport today, and I'd say maybe 35 boats tops launched. Only half of those boats were in the water by 5:45, and probably a good chunk of the others were smaller bay crabbing boats.
Ocean started out a little snotty and got really snotty by 7:30. Fished till 8:15 going 0 for 3 on coho.
To my knowledge, no one made it more than 10 or so miles from the jetties today out of Newport.
I hope the weather tomorrow is at least a little, tiny bit better than today!

The amount of rumors on the board sure seems to be on the climb... Everyday there's a new one.

It used to be that you could trust the info on the board, now anymore it seems like people are just trying to get a rise, or look cool, i'm not sure which.

Please don't post rumors. If you know it's a rumor, and you have no fact behind it, please don't bother. You are offering ZERO value to this board.

Now, if you're investigating a rumor, that's another thing. A simple "Heard 70 boats went out today, did anyone on here make it ou? Did anyone hear anything while they were out."

Sorry, it's just down right frustrating.

I just got in from an afternoon at Newport. We put in at two. Most I talked to went for bottom fish. I put out crab pots, headed west into the slop for a while and decided to take a ride up the bay. Did get a limit of crab and the ocean conditions were a little better in the evening...Your results may vary...

FirstH20, Thanks for telling us what you heard.

They don't have to lighten up my family has been on the coast for 5 generations i realy don't care what they think. But THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT.All that mattered is that there were boats out there & no one caught any tuna.I stayed off this site because of people that made up there minds when the SYDNEY MAE sank at windy bay.they all seemed to know what happened then to.They didn't but my father did he was there on the boat. But there were some good rumors then to it's funny how that works.
