You will soon find that you should have said "OK boys and girls". This isn't a "just for men" club (jab intended for some including myself).
As Keta said, you select an Avatar in your profile. Not sure about the 10 post waiting period, but if you don't see an avatar field now, post away and get past the waiting period. But, you must post your introductory fishing story first.
You can select an Avatar from the default ones on iFish, or you can upload your own avatar and use it. You will want to make sure you don't upload a huge image. The desired format is a GIF image that is 48 X 48 pixels. Use any image you have (or you find elsewhere on the web), convert it to 48 X 48 as a GIF, and upload it to iFish. The "picture upload" function is a link in the first gold horizontal bar from the top of the screen. Put "Avatar" in the description field of the file you upload, and then Jennie will be less likely to delete it when she cleans out old images to free up some disk space. So, in the description you could put something like "SharkBait's Avatar"
When you upload the image, iFish will give it some numeric name like 162517222.gif. Write this name down so that you will know which image to point to for your avatar. At the bottom of the avatar selection page, you would enter in "Use Custom URL:" the following "http://www.ifish.net/uploads/162517222.gif" (but of course change the file name to the file name you uploaded).
