Chief owns the Sellwood
The CHIEF strikes again. AT about 8:45 chief boated a very nice 18 pounder. Once again 16 boaters trying and time and time again it's all about the chief. Chief it's very difficult to get any work done when every time i turn around your slapping your net in the water. WAY TO GO

Just heard that, too...
C'mon, Chief...three in five days...save some for the rest of us or we'll have to take you to federal court.

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
Don't get me wrong, I love these Up To the Minute, play by plays of the Sellwood Springers, but where do you work? Or do you work? It seems all you do is give us play by play of the Sellwood area. Do you work at Staff Jennings? That would give us a clue as to what you do for a living. If you do can you get me a discount on my parts for my boat?

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
Happy - how long have you worked at SJ?
My uncle Ed D. worked there for something like 36 years before he retired a couple years ago.
Thanks for the updates

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
Why is the Sellwood bridge the place, why not other bridges and channels. What's so special about this particular spot, I'm sure if fish are there, they are lower too.
The only thing I see special is that it's posted here.

Did anyone see anyone else catch anything at Sellwood, say in a Whaler with a big Rottweiler aboard???

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
BigWaterBigFish,
Chief was the only one who boated a fish today. He handed me a little special something to try out, I would never have thought of using it. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens...
SKP,
Sellwood area is getting highlighted because that's where most trollers are flocking to. It gets pretty congested out there. There's days when it looks like Oregon City :depressed:

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
Yes other fish were caught four that i actually saw. All before 1:00pm. Only three boats out trying right know. Good luck fishing, I'm hearing of fish being caught throughout the entire river. The fish are here. Let's quit working and start fishing.

I heard one of those 4 fish was a sturgeon picked up while salmon fishing.

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
Hey Big n Bright ... that little something wasn't a flasher was it ... noticed most guys were using those smaller Delta's, I think Chief will use a smaller dodger but some of the old timer in times of murky water will use a set up similiar to a walleye spinner ahead of the herring. We'll be there fishing on Saturday and Sunday

Re: Chief owns the Sellwood
THE HAPPY HOOKER,
I seen a few fishermen fighting snags for a while and they were pretty close to your office window. Are you sure about 4 fish? I was there till noon & Chief was the only one.
BWBF,
Nope it wasn't a flasher, it's simpler than that.
