El Nino\'?
Sorry, for I have sinned father, I have strayed from the flock and regret this dearly. Please forgive me.
I just have lost interest in all types of fishing EXCEPT for albacore, and have been away from ifish since then.
Is this an El Nino' year? If so what does this mean to our offshore season in the summer? I LOVE this stuff, I want more warm water fish and I want it now!
My fishing partner and deckhand "Sailfish" has just left for Costa Rica for five damn months to guide at Roy's Sportfishing on the Pacific side for sailfish, marlin, and whatever else they get down there, if anyone goes down there let me know and I'll try to get some info for you.

Re: El Nino\'?
Gregotis my brother, where have you been hiding? I was beginning to wonder if you and Seasquid had gone south in quest of more finned ones!
Seasquid, are you still out there?
So if we go 50 miles out in a non-El Nino year to catch tuna, what kinda cool fish can we catch if we go 50 miles out IN an El Nino year? Lookout Mr. Bill, we're coming!

Re: El Nino\'?
Gregotis, my brother, you have been away so long, I've nearly forgotten your face!
Whassamatta you!? You leave this board because you think Tuna fishing season is over!?
We are ALL tuna ALL the TIME here on the carking channel.
Tunaholics meeting in Dec was cancelled due to popular demand, but doggone it, we'll have one in January just as soon as schedules permit. Never fear lil' pardner... It's coming soon to a venue near you!
Mel: July 1?! Nope. JUNE, my man... JUNE....
Corrirod: You're singin' my tune, my man! Save me a spot on your boat, just in case Pilar is on the road again?! I've got your lucky jig after all....

Re: El Nino\'?
Gregotis98, welcome back brutha......
On the last huge El Nino ..... all sorts of wierd things happened. Mackeral in the ghost hole, crystal clear water at 72 degrees off the S jetty of Tillamook. Mahi, Mahi caught on the south coast from a jetty ... Coos Bay? And our buddy Bill checked into a tuna boat from Westport, Wa.
Hmmmm..... wonder what it'll be this time.

Ya Ya- I just don't want to get my hopes up too high. Remember- I fish aabout as far Norht in this State as you can get. I'll be the last to get my fix! I'm thinking of taking the boat down early this year. I guess the Early Springer fishing off the CR was great last year. A little May Sturgeon and then El Nino TUNA in June!
Oh Man - Yep we need a meeting in January. I think everyone has to bring there favorite TUNA Lure to this one!

Re: El Nino\'?
I can add a little insight regarding the El Nino Ques.
According to our resident experts, this is considered a weak El Nino episode and therefore the predictions are split 50/50 either way. So the effects on our beloved hobby are inconclusive at this time. The recent rain storms are promising though!
Last strong El Nino, we had tuna within 3 miles of shore and an occasional BILL was spotted at the mouth of Humboldt Bay!

Re: El Nino\'?
Yeah, Mel, favorite lure... Mmmm... we could do a "white elephant" gift exchange. That'd be a hoot!
Let's try and do a mid-week thing again.
Keta, are you coming up during the boat show at all?

Re: El Nino\'?
Hi everybody,
Seasquid is alive and well -- I'm on one of these ridiculous road trips that I get stuck on this time of the year....Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, Kansas City and now Phoenix. The weather in Phoenix is horrible!
Gregotis, long time no hear from. Good to see you are still with us.
Well, I had tuna fever so bad last night I ordered grilled ahi salad in Kansas City -- you can only eat so much steak. They assured me it was good -- it was fair. The chilled tequilla shots were awesome however -- a bit two awesome maybe ... anyway.
It sounds like we may have a few more for the flotillas this summer -- sounds great! I can't wait for the first run....
All of you folks have a Merry Christmas.
Cheers
ss

Re: El Nino\'?
TnT  (Tequila 'n Tuna!) well, at least they did half of it right!
Merry Christmas, Steve!
How can the weather in Phoenix be terrible unless it is summertime?!
