decent day at the CR bouy today.
5 fish to the boat. 4 nooks and a coho. Biggest was #24. Others crackered at the boat, cut off on the downrigger cable, and some long line releases. all in all a good day, just scratch fishing. 240' of water, SW of CR. 25' on riggers or 17 pulls.
purple haze behind white dodger. green apex took one nook also.
got get em!

Re: decent day at the CR bouy today.
Just got back from there, 2 nooks in the box. 1 was 37 in long and fat, the other was 29 in long. 2 released for being too short, lots of drive bys and a few long line releases, Cut plug on a short leader behind a dodger, 25 ft down. No silvers. Took "I Got Crabs" with me and we ended up with 8 keeper crabs to complement the salmon. .
We fished from 9:30 to 6:30 south of the cr bouy.

Re: decent day at the CR bouy today.
Very fat fish indeed. Throw it on the BBQ and all will be well.

We set a couple of cages in the morning on the south side of the south jetty in 60' of water. Checked them and rebaited them a couple of times during the day. Lots of soft crabs, we did a lot of weeding to bring home 8 hard crabs. We also put out a couple of crab rings and then threw led heads with plastic at the jetty for rock fish to no avail while we were soaking the rings, the rings out fished/crabed the cages. We used shad for bait.

Re: decent day at the CR bouy today.
Good to know...I usually drop my ring west side of the A jetty in about 30' or so...last time we got 12 in the pot, with 4 keepers.
That's when the big run off was going so wasn't sure we'd get anything.

Re: decent day at the CR bouy today.
Went out Wednesday and fished mostly West of the CR and landed 7 salmon--a mix of Coho and Chinook, small ones turned loose. Only put a 15# Chinook and 2 Coho in the box. Way to go Mark! We also had between 5 and 10 strikes that didn't stick. We used herring and Coyote's and all performed equally. I hope the quota lasts for a while so we can do it again.
Great time on the water---get out there.

Thanks for the report. What speed do you troll? I've heard that some are getting better results trolling faster (about 2.5-3 mph).

NOAA and Magic Seaweed are forecasting rough conditions for Sunday. Wetsands is showing a much better forecast. Here is to hoping Wetsands turns out to be more accurate.
