Default Boating-Dreams & Nightmares!

Well here I sit ,reflecting on the last years experiences and thought I'd share my highs and lows. First high was the lead pour at capn Dans! Great experince, Low- opening day of Halibut, 32 miles out with only 2 miles to go when my newly rebuilt mercuiser picks up a bad vib! High was bringing in a 53 & 45 incher to the boat. Low was when the outdrive came up, spewing oil from a broken line. High- was the summer steelhead on the Colombia that my friend caught on his first trip! Low- running back, the mecrcuiser picks up the same vibration as before. High- catching upper river brites and thinking all was good for a Halibut run out of Garabadi. Made that 25 mile run and brought up a 43 incher up on the first drop! Low- watching a 60 incher swim away before getting a gaff in it. High- seeing Threemuch and few other ifishers out there. Low- running back in! 17 miles out pick up vib and rpm's go down, Wham- main belt breaks! Call CC and get towed in from 15 miles out. Well I had my boat in the shop more this summer then my yard ,let alone on the water. I read all the Tuna posts, planning to run out with everyone but never having the confidence. Well a new year is bring hopes of being back with the salty dogs, pulling bounty from the deep! I think this time Mintbite is Stable. A few more Stugeon trips will tell. Eveyone be safe and have fun! I will be out there next year!

I notice you have seeing THREEMUCH as a "low"...I couldn't agree more that's why we sent him North..but then again the only place we ever saw the original THREEMUCH was in the parking lot while Kurt was riding on one of our boats..

Threemuch a low point? It's a good thing you didn't run in to me, a chubby, limping, cancer infested jerk

Keta,

You left out "with a hell of sense of humor."

Capra, you need glasses! Mintbrite said seeing me was a high! I have been lucky til now, all my adventures have been highs until this last one.

Mary seems OK with spending the family fortune on fixing the boat, so I am a happy guy. Probably won't be able to start work until February.

Boys, Boys.... Jeez... Just cause Mike Watson threw in the towel and closed down BARF, you don't have to take it out on poor Threemuch. Threemuch should feel sorry for Mark. Now he has to pay to play on his computer.

How's the great ocean fishing in CA doing Mark? Fun doing crab and dab???? Or are you in the fleet of boats at the Alameda Rockwall doing sharking pretending to sturgeon fish?

Hey,

I was on-board with Mint-brite during most of the excursions described. They were all a hi for me! looking forward to many more salt water trips, even if you always seem to catch more fish than me. Mintbrite, you forgot to mention the limit of nice chinooks we caught off the south jetty.
