Even better, you actually get to go fishing in the ocean next year. Not so to the south in the land of fruits and nuts.

For a while there it looked like gone goose. That's why we started bird dogging the ODFW meetings.

Pilar as a resident of the state you just slandered I'm very .......sorry to say that it is becoming overly populated of those you described so no offense taken...seriously I'm glad that your F &G Commision is made up of rational thinkers...having attended a couple of California Commisison Hearings I don't think any of our Commisioners have a brain to think with...

Bstnwaler, you are 110% right. I graduated from high school in Santa Clara and then went to UC Berkeley. Then I couldn't wait to get out of there. Between the fruits in Frisco and Berkeley and the rest of the nuts in Marin County you don't stand a chance! I went down to see my son last month in SF and couldn't believe it. I feel sorry for the "normal" people down there. Good luck to you.

Bstnwaler,

Do you have an opportunity to testify before your F&G commission the way we do up here? We found that if we didn't speak out (with well thought-out arguments) the commission didn't have much of a chance to be rational thinkers.

By that I mean that they only had one side of the story and that was usually fragmented.
Pressures from commercial fishers and their various opinions/agendas made it hard for our commissioners to make decisions that were sound.

We recreationals came in and presented a unified front, based in conservancy and we were heard.

I would like to think that it could happen other places. Political climates vary, but with some networking and effort, I think you might be able to do some good down there in MY home state

There are a few up here who have some contacts there... if interested, drop me a line. Maybe we can get you "connected".
