Re: Leftover tags, who got one
I arrived at the vendor at 9:30 AM this morning. I was told I was last in line. There was no one behind me. People were camped at the door before opening. I did not get a tag fot the 100's or the 200's , within reasonable gas B/C by my turn. Competition for tags in the leftover draw has become ferociuos.

Re: Leftover tags, who got one
Friend and I managed to snag two of the Sprague Elk tags. Had both of them in hand at 10:02. Got some good information about where to go before we decided to purchase them. Fingers crossed about the hunt, if they are there - we'll find them

I got to my chosen point of sale at 8 a.m. and was first in line. A buddy of mine got to his store at 7:45 to find out he was third in line. I figure it's worth a couple hours wait for a extra tag. Chances aren't great that I will be successful in filling the tag. But I'm ok with that, I just love to be out in the woods.

Re: Leftover tags, who got one
Here is a Hood Unit buck that I got in '03 on a left-over tag. I was way up high near Wahtum Lake.............tough hunt but beautiful country. I happened to hit a daylight hunt right after a good storm. Good Luck filling the tag. Wheels.

Re: Leftover tags, who got one
Wow nice buck wheels. I would give the left one for a buck like that with a leftover tag.

Is two minutes official? Really seemed like 30 seconds to me.

I got a hood unit tag as well. Seems as though only about 4 or 5 people had a chance......

Re: Leftover tags, who got one
Lucky enuff to pickup Hood deer tag been 4th year now. Hard Hard hunt'n been very blessed and filled all my tags to date. Also picked up a Silverlake Elk donation tag ya I know it will probably be a camping trip with no elk to be found, but way I look at it you can't harvest an Elk if you don't have a tag for 'em and if ya sit at home watch'n the hunt'n channel ain't bringing me any closer to having elk in the freezer . I went to my *** at 7:45 am was the first person in line and the only person to show up period usually always 5-6 people in line.. I'm really surprised, also wondered being that is was a work day how many people took time off work to get a tag. Best of hunting times to you all ....... BS

I got to work at 06:40 and there were two people in line outside the gate. The office doesn't open until 08:00.

Re: Leftover tags, who got one
I wish I hadn't got so involved with the wifes honey-do-list on the morning of the 1st, remembered about 11:00. My brother-in-law called to see if I got a Hood Unit tag and boy was I dumb founded. He has harvested some real nice animals out of the Hood Unit. Hopefully I can go along with him and be a extra set of eyes.

Congradulations on the Hood tag, I ended up second in line and didn't get mine. Bummer to see Bob in line when I got there, I should have arrived earlier. Good for him for securing his sons tag before trying and not getting his Hood tag. If your not first in line there's not much chance in getting that tag. The next two in line let out a grown and walked away after Bob didn't get his Hood tag. Note to self, Arrive earlier next year. 0 for 4 on tags this year for me. Some big bears in there also. Good luck on the hunt. I saw a nice 4 point a few days ago while scouting locally so there's hope for the regular archery hunt.
