Traditional first Story
Some years ago when hippies were all the rage and new boundries of social conduct were being established, even before political correctness, I went fishing on the Wilson river.
It was early summer and flyfishing for steelhead had caught my imagination. Fsherpeople everywhere know the symptoms. It was a beautiful bright day and I slipped along quietly staying in the shade working the deep pools and letting the floating line ride over the riffles from one deep place to another. As I started to quietly begin fishing a new spot I noticed there were a few people near the far end of the run sitting in the sun on a low ledge, right in the deepest place. Although they were on my side, I didn't pay much attention since none seemed to be fishing. A very long cast and some additional line mended had me fishing in the best water as I casually walked with the line floating down river. As I got closer, i realized they were girls. One of them slipped into the river to swim, then another the third one wrapped-up in a towel. They were skinny dipping and got embarassed. Two were treading water until I got past. By that time my line was floating past them so I just let it be. That's just when a hot summer fish nabbed the fly and started to jump. Now, remember those girls that were treading water and that floating flyline? Well, it streaked upward between one of the girls legs. Have you ever heard of walking on water? I seen it. The fish quickly broke off and I tried to not look apologizing as I made a hasty bee-line past them. Two hundred yards down the river I finally stopped. I think they could hear me laughing all they way back there. True story.

Re: Traditional first Story
Have never fished that hole since the story, also it's the first time I have ever told anyone about that fishing trip including my wife.

PS - That is the most NON-traditional story I've heard!
