Default Yaquina Bay crabbing

How has crabbing been in Newport? Where is the hot spot? How are the seals? Thank you for any information.

I heard from 2 differant people at work, that last weekend they limited and that they were good crabs.
I am pretty sure they were just out in front of the Natural gas tank.
Good luck....

I went last week and konked 'em Big Time! My 2 neighbors konked 'em too, nice crabbies and good quality! We were around #12 12A up to #14 in the edges 24+ ft. and in the "gut" at high slack. Yes seals and the big boys were there on and off. Bring your sling shots and marbles! Mink, turkey or chicken, NO FISH! The one side of the tides is getting better noe so u should get 'em. Rots 'o Ruck!" Chillyone....

That reminds me, how do I tie up a rope to a crab ring and how much rope should I use (will be used for bank/dock crabbing, not from a boat).
thanks

I went out yesterday and bagged three limits...threw several softshells back.

I used tuna and salmon for bait, but saw several people using chicken/turkey. Sea Lions are bad, but they didn't hamper us too much with traps....

good luck
