Where to buy a good riding lawnmower?
On 6/28/07 at 1:40 my Murry riding lawnmower of over 10 years gave up the ghost. I was 9/10s done with my lawn and BOOM the engine throws a rod. It was a good mower, but this year I knew it was it's last. I would cut the lawn and then fix something, cut the lawn and fix it again. The last time I fixed it again, it still would not work so I fixed it yesteday one last time and took it for one last lap.
What is a good make for a good price?

I have a 1/2 acre yard, that thing would blow up like my riding lawn mower did. Thanks though, that thing is cool, if I had a smaller yard I would want one.

From the cut/fix, cut/fix, cut/fix scenario you gave, I assume you feel the mower isn't worthy of considering a new short block for the engine . . . Don

Re: Where to buy a good riding lawnmower?
Mine mows about 1/2 acre of slope going down to our dock. Works just fine. Basically, the mow area is lined with a wire like those dog collar deals. *******, our mower lives under our deck in his charging station. When he hits a scheduled mow session he pulls out and mows the edge. During this time he uses his inertial guidance system to map out the area then plot out a "mow plan". In the end, he ends up going over everything 2-3 times in different patterns pretty much covering everything in his 3 hour run. Once his batteries run low he returns home and recharges. He has programmable insertion points and he is only mowing once a week for my lawn so I'm pretty sure he can practically keep on top of a couple acres. As long as your lawn is reasonably kept it should have no problems with obstructions. He can go out once a day, 7 days per week and does not want a tip.
There is nothing wrong with doing it manually but I don't miss the 1 1/2 hours per week of exercise I was getting before. I initially held back for the same concerns of durability and coverage but he is one of my better purchases. Feel free to follow whatever path you want but don't discount this one out of hand.
