Keta - Send me a 1/2 dozen of each (rigged please) and I'll let you know this time next year!

Actually - I can't help since almost all our fish this year were on cedar plugs run way back on the rods. The ones I hit on feathers/jigs were on homemades, Octupus hoochies with a couple of egg sinkers inside for weight. They're chesp and seem to work. I bought some clones late in the season but never got them rigged and running. Something to do this winter! TUNA! TUNA! TUNA!

I always use TCF, tuna clone feathers. Worth the extra buck. Feathers always outfish straight clones. Never seen a day when they didn't. TCF 200 is the albacore size, but the little ones, TCF 100 will catch their share. I have a couple 300s and have yet to catch a fish with them.

Colors. My Faves are:

100, purple and black, aka sablefish.
111, mexican flag
112, zuchinni
140, loco joe
50, black and green.

I will also always have a rootbeer broomtail and a zuchinni broomtail on board, and a couple cedar plugs, one plain, the other purple and black.

Threemuch - Thanks - I just cut and paste this over to my Christmas list! Great stocking stuffers if there are any TUNAholics spouses (almost said wives Jen!) lurking out there.

Tuni - Tuni are you out there?

Is $8.00 ea. a fair price for rigged cedar plugs?

Keta, man I thought I had time on my hands.

6" is the size but I did not see the TCF (TUNA! clone feathers) lures that are my goto. The link you had is for TC (TUNA! clone). That is a plastic skirt and weighted head. While these work they do not have feathers.

Fishermans Marine has at times (like now, no fishing offshore) had a pretty decent selection of TCF.

The strange thing is that 7strand says they have redesigned the TCF. Does that mean that my GOTO is no more? I better get out there and snap up whatever is on the shelves while they last.

What works is POES cedar plugs and Zukers feathers. The TCF is a lower cost item that works too.

Colors .... Black and Purple, Red and White, Chartreuse and Green, Mexican flag and Blue and White all work well. Black and Purple is my favorite. It works all the time.

Hope this helps .......... you fiend!

Pilar,

Thanks

The colors codes are the same for the feathers.
I have several black and purple TC200 clones rigged and ready to fish.

Anyone want to trade two or three unrigged black and purple clones (not feathers) for unrigged Mexician flag clones?
