Default Great Lakes Trout and Salmon

A more enlightened approach:
you can look up each state's rules but they are similar in the Great Lakes.

Michigan
Great Lakes Trout and Salmon

Atlantic salmon, Brook trout (Note 2), Brown trout,
Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, Grayling
Lake trout (Note 4), Pink salmon, Rainbow trout (steelhead),
Splake

On the inland lakes listed below (by county), the regulations on the harvest of trout and salmon are as follows: 5 trout and salmon in any combination; no more than three of any one species; no more than 2 lake trout or splake; open all year except the lake trout season is open May 1 - Labor Day; minimum size limit is (10) ten inches.

Legal fishing methods:
Up to three lines per person with a total of three (3) hooks or baits may be used.
Lines must be attended at all times

Special Regulations for Lake Erie
brown trout, rainbow trout (Including steelhead), coho salmon, chinook salmon, pink salmon All year 9" 3 in any combination
lake trout All year 9" 1
