Default Sunday (non-fishy) story

Geez, this board is a ghost town today. I hope that means lots of fish stories coming soon.....I was working on my project boat today. Had my head down, & heard what I thought was a person running up the driveway. Stood up & took a few steps, and just then a deer is running ("prancing"?) through the driveway towards me, ~` 15 feet away. It was already hauling ass, but after we startled each other, he makes two unbelievably giant leaps, first about 6 feet vertical & 10 feet horizontal up the shrub-covered slope, then another 8 - 10 foot leap up & around the garage. I was so startled I stepped back & spilled a toolbox with screws, washers & other stuff all over the floor. We have a herd of "pet" deer in the neighborhood; they usually just amble around. This one had the adrenaline going for some reason....

This is how they usually hang out, on the patio right under the deck. Lasso anyone?

We have a small herd that lives in the neighborhood. There's a fenced area near(Metro owned -not going to tell exactly where) that's almost like a park. Apparently someone hit one of them this Saturday. We heard a shot real close and when we checked there was a cop car parked in the neighbors drive. The cops were standing looking in the ditch. They had to shoot a nice 3 point that was still alive in the ditch. Too bad, I don't hunt, but I would rather see one get shot and go to some good than hit by a car and go to waste. :depressed:
