Default Clip size restriction for coyotes??

So basically do I need to find a 5 rnd clip for my AR to hunt coyotes? I'm pretty sure I only need to use a 5 rnd for game animals. But before I risked it, I thought I'd throw it out here.

Oh and while I'm at it, cougars and bears are game animals but not coyotes correct??

if you have a cougar or bear tag in your pocket a 5 round clip, is the smart thing to have, just in case. if there is no chance of calling in a tagable animal while hunting coyotes, rabbits, rodents, and feral swine. then a standard high capacity magazine is legal. the only legal game animal you can hunt with a high capacity weapon is western gray squirrel. now hunting with a hand gun has it's own regulations. auto rifles and shotguns are effected

Take what Baltz says to the bank. He KNOWS his rules and is a great hunter/sportsman.

I use a 10 round mag in my AR for yotes, but if a cougar were to cross my path, I better have a 5 rounder handy...just in case "you know who" asks.

And if you are going to get a 5 round mag Bushmaster makes one of the best. It has a plastic piece on the bottom to halp remove it. Some of the others fit flush with the bottom of the magwell. Hard to extract.

I was asking myself this very same question the other day. I pulled out the regs and couldn't find anything about magazine restrictions. I looked, but nope, couldn't find it.

Could somebody point it out for me?

So if you have a class III license RPG's ae good to go, a little spendy, but fun and effective.

Not a good idea during fire season.

A few years back I researched this and ended up being referred to a State Police Captain in the game enforcement division. He said that the magazine capacity restriction is for game animals, not coyotes.
