Hi: Is there any rockfishing going on on the north jetty at barview ? I like fishing the rock's with bobber. :smile: I had good luck that way.

Hey Fishdog,

I used to fish Barview Jetty and had a great time there. I mostly caught Green Ling but the occasional rockfish and ling cod are possible. I have caught surf perch on the ocean side too.

I would be careful and recomend you don't go past the Coast Guard tower in the winter months. I have seen waves swallow the whole jetty all the way past the rocks that keep you from driving on the jetty!

I have dome well all the way back to where the first parking lot is. Keep an eye on the tide so you don't get trapped out there.

I did reel well with sand shrimp. Bobbers didn't fare too well with me but who knows. I would take a lot more tackle than you plan to use cause those rocks aren't very forgiving. A lot of times when I snagged, if I was patient enough, a fish would get me out of it.

I was down there trolling for salmon last sunday and there was a guy fishing a bobber from the rocks whacking greenling one right after another.

[img]graemlins/idea.gif[/img] The water should be flat and bobber fishing with "Bait" should get you something...Like the other 'reply' there are fish inand around the jetty...Just watch them sneaker waves, fer sher!!!
