Default Where\'z the salmon?

Can anyone give me some ideas of where to fish out of Depoe or Newport? I caught fish all over earlier in the season but I figure they are probably a little more sparce right now.

I think I'm going to get out on Thursday if anyone else is interested in joining us.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if the ttttttttuna are still around? Aaaaaaahhhhhh, there I go again!

Thanks.

The lights of the trollers that are staying out are about 10 miles out. They were 5 or 6 the other day.

I haven't heard of anything since last week.
The ocean has had the winter lump all week also. So play it safe.....

Remember the last couple of years we were limiting everyday at the pile, when the season first opens and they have been big fish......see ya there I early May.

Went out last Sunday (Newport), the boat owner said 18 miles. Great day on the water (flat) and we fished around 15 commercial boats. One fish on, about 18lbs, boat no fish in the boat. Locals were saying the commercial boys were finding the salmon fishing tough. There is always next year.

Just talked to my buddy that is moored down at Dopey
Bay on the same dock as me. He fished for 4 days
(lucky dog!) and had some pretty good salmon fishing
out at 60 fathoms ... this means the fish have moved
*out* about 10-12 fathoms in the past week. Good
numbers for the commercial guys with daily catches
of feeders from 16 fish to 36 fish. Oh yeah, 270
heading to 60 fathoms, drop the gear down between
15-30 fathoms. Pink flashers (where the heck do I
find those?) with purple haze hoochies and "army truck"
spoons.

Good luck to all running for salmon outa Dopey Bay this wek/weekend!
