Default Question for the bird hunters....

I'm curious if anyone has done any bird hunting in the "GODS VALLEY" area? I have seen turkeys back in there during elk season. Is there any uppland bird or maybe even duck/goose hunting back in there?

Thanks, just being curious,

I do not think there is anyone on this planet that knows that area better than I do. They planted a bunch of Turkeys in there about 14 years ago, but between the poaching and the predators, they have struggled to take off. The swamp still holds birds, but they are tough to target in the spring.

Much like any part of Western Oregon, there is a bunch of grouse and some quail. As for ducks and geese, there will be a couple birds in there if the fields flood, but you will find a lot more concentration of ducks near Wheeler in the bay. I would not even bother hunting Gods Valley for geese...

It is very disappointing what happened to the Elk and Deer herds back in this area. I usually will put a lot of blame on the predators, but this was mainly caused by all the poachers...

That used to be the area my family elk hunted. I have seen a turkey there one time, but i wouldn't waste your time targeting that area for birds
