Default South coast next two weeks

I will be down in the North Bend, Coos Bay area the next couple of weeks any hot spots for fishing this time of year? I will be on foot so looking for some good bank access or some good ocean spots (jetties, bays, surf?). Thanks for the info

What type of fish are you after? If salmon, the Coos river and tide water along with Istimus slough are both providing chances of catching silvers and chinook. If you like a chance in catching starry flounders, the mudflats surrounding North Bend, the boat basin of Coos Bay and around the North spit area would be a good place to check out. If you are familiar with Horse Falls beach and know how to fish the "bowls" in the beach, chances of catching sea perch (pinks) and an occassional striped-bass is a good possibility. These areas mentioned are good for bankies......good luck.........Josef

Right now if you're looking for a good bankie spot go to Ithmus Slough. It has a ton of salmon in it right now and is by far the easiest access right off of the highway. You can catch a chinook or a coho right now (fin clips on coho obviously) and most of the coho are hatchery up there anyhow. Get a bunch of blue fox's, pink and lime green, and probably some eggs with a bobber will be the best bet. Low tide is also the time to be there. It really condenses the fish. If you need driving directions let me know.
