Bumper
Here's a link to a nice looking boat at Brown's Landing. I like to browse their boats every once in a while and it sounds like this one might fit your bill. Good luck in your search. Hope the link works.

Jeez... This guy bumper_chrome must already be infected with tuna fever. First he gets the tuna nuts all riled up with his post am i straight on this??? Then he starts the ol' plastic vs. metal boat discussion.

There is no boat that can do it all. All boats are compromises. One boat may be better at one thing and another better at another thing.

Sounds like you are looking at used boats. If you are then that is fine. You can modify the heck out of the boat to make it fit what you want to do the most. If you are serious about ocean fishing, bigger is always better. More freeboard is always better in the ocean. Deep vee vs. modified vee your choice. Deep vee better for rough waters, modified vee better for fuel economy. Plastic is better for a quieter and gentler ride, metal better for ease of maintenance but louder.

As for brands, my prejudice is well known. Caveat emptor is always good to know when buying a boat. But a used boat is almost pure maintenance anyway.

Come back with some ideas and the boat nuts will take potshots or will love your choice.

Bumper... bank the cash for 8 months, be a rider for a few trips on different boat sizes and styles next season, then make your choice... Best Advice.
