Default Paulina Report 6/18-21

Our family trip to Paulina was a blast this year! Weather was great and fishing was good! Easy limits trolling, very easy! The hot ticket was 20' down and a silver dodger with prizim tape and a green crappie tube w/ 00 silverblade, backed up with Double #4 gami fine wire dropshot hooks! I am sold on these! If you are losing alot of fish on octopus hooks try these! They penatrate so much better, and don't wear a big hole in the koke's mouth! Thanks DOG, for the jigging tips, we didn't give it a hard try, but we did OK jigging! The fish are running 11 to 13" and skinny! The bugs showed up thursday, so that should be good for them, I think they will fatten up quickly!

Isn't that lake just beautiful! Great pictures! We just got back last week from the cabin right next to the eagle. The snowbird.

Our hot lure was the orange and silver dodger04 with orange wedding ring but had just as good of luck with the silver00 dodger and green wedding ring.

I caught one brown about the size of your's but didn't spend much time fishing for them.

Going back next month. Hopfully they will be a little fatter from all the fly's their eating.

thanks for thr report!

Thanks for reporting, Joe. Glad you guys had good weather and plenty of cooperative fish. Haven't had a chance to visit the crater for three years but am planning a mid-July trip. Your pics of that beautiful lake and surroundings brought back some very fond memories.

Hey Joemomma,

Nice going You guys must've left right before the thunderstorms came in on Saturday afternoon. We were over at East and WooooooDoggie!!! It got pretty gnarly and sloppy. I know there's a 10 mph speed limit on the lake, but I said "Screw this noise, let's get the hell out of here!" And the way the wind was blowing in relation to how we had to get back to the cabins, I had the wheel cranked fully to the right and the wind was still blowing me to the left with the hammer fully down! That was some of the more hairy weather I've encountered for a while.

Thanks for the report and the pictures Joe. Sounds like you had a good time. When the weather is good, there are few places as beautiful to fish as Paulina. Hard to beat the red meat of those kokanee either.
