Default Halibut season

Has anyone got any news on the halibut season next week? I understood that Wednesday and Thursday were being requested as additional fishing days. Is this going to happen or is it just Friday and Saurday? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hiya WP,

Here is the link to the in-season halibut regs for Oregon:

halibut regs

Nothing printed yet about Wed. & Thurs.

You may also call: NMFS Area 2A Halibut Hotline - In-season updates on 2A non-tribal recreational fishery seasons. (1-800-662-9825, press 5)

I haven't called it in the last few days; it's a long-winded message; get comfortable if you call. - MarkMc

I just called the hotline; the message still says just this Friday & Saturday open, that other days are being considered, and that it will be announced "on this hotline" if the other days are approved.
