Well, its not really a tuna report cause the weather was too snotty for me to get out today. Word on the docks is that the fish are still in the 22 to 26 miles area and the same good size. I could only make about 12 knots in dense fog with 5 foot swells very close together and a 3 foot cross chop. Not much wind but the swells were already white capping because of how steep they were. It looks nice from shore, but about 10 miles out it changes. I banged out to the 12 mile mark (so close, I could almost smell em) and decided to save the gas for better conditions. Sounds like it will be a little better Sat. and Sun., but then again when the south stuff hits the north stuff, it may get even more messy.
Anyone going out.....play it safe. Middle of next week..........WIDE OPEN ALBIES and FLAT CALM SEAS. (I hope)
I'm still kicking around the idea of Sunday....but I'm looking for running partners -- no takers so far. I'm not totally committed to the deal anyway, so maybe I'll just take a lazy fall chinook fishing trip somewhere. Ouch, that forecast for early next week looks nasty...
