Default northern idaho

i go to northern idaho every year in august and fish the pend oreille river. we do good for sm bass up to 18 inches we use mostly tube jigs. i was wondering what else we could use to catch bigger fish. the water is clear and there is alot of milfoil in the water, we catch the sm around rocky outcrops. have fished another part of the river and seen tons of large sm bass the water was about 15ft deep and you could see every rock on the bottom. there were a bunch of stumps and logs underwater the bass were around, but no matter what we tried couldn't get anything to bite any suggestions
thanx for any info
patrick

Check your private message box. In clear water you have to remember that big bass have seen alot of lures in their day. If they have time to investigate the bait, it is in my opinion that they are less likely to hit it.

In other words....try reaction baits. Don't give the fish time to think about it.

Thats all I got. It can be tough catching big smallies in rivers that have a lot of little ones.
