Default The story of the Body-less Shark...

It's true......
It all started with a harmless tuna trip....
3 guys just enjoying the day. No waves, no chop, sea creatures frollicking about......
and then it happened........
Out of nowhere came the Bodyless Shark!!
Nearly taking one of my crew out!
After a relentless battle we were able to save my crewman and cast the bodyless shark back to the deep.... So everyone beware....it could happen to you.......

So is that one that you ran over today, or the one we ran over with the outdrive at 20 knots on Friday?

BF,

I had no idea you had salt in your blood? I thought you were just a land-locked bug chucker?

Gotta get this kid popped out now so fishing/hunting are on hold. If you're nice I'll repay you the steelhead this winter!

Besides, you wouldn't like tuna fishing anyway. When they hit they darn near rip your pole in half, they run for a hundred yards, they dive and dart back and forth under the boat, their big and full of meat. See what I mean, I'm sure you wouldn't be interested!

The Shark picture is a reverse shot of what we experienced tuna fishing out of Newport during the first week of August. I am curious if this has happened to others.

We are catching tuna and trolling along when one of the hand lines goes off. My buddy is bringing it in when everyone calls out " aaaahhhh, look at the red". There was an explosion of red in the water and the next thing we see is my buddy pulling in just the head of a tuna. It had scrape marks down its head and was cleanly cut right through like a butcher had sliced it. It was one very small bite for the man in the grey flannel suit.

Yep, had a shark take half a tuna last year on a rod -- caught the darn shark as well -- it got hung up in a handline -- although it didn't much care for being drug in tail first, it is still swimming in the Big Blue somewhere -- plus I still have my gear....

Hmmm... seems to me that Puffin chopped a shark in half with his boat a few weeks back. I thought I heard someone else did the same.

That's right PM, I think that's how the Body-less shark came to fruition.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the ocean..........
