Just a thought...
I've thought about this off and on for the last year or so and wondered...
With the growing number of people on iternet forums on a wide range of topics, do you think that certain special interest groups; for example anti-hunting in this case would go to a hunting board have someone sign up and pretend to be middle of the road and steer others to thier side a little at a time, for political reasons? And just for clarification I'm not refrencing any individual or topic. Just wondered a time or two. And something to think about before fighting and arguing on the net.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Ever consider hanging out on one of their forums and doing the same?

Re: Just a thought...
But it usually keeps me from getting into 'discussions' on hot topics. Not really worth it.

Re: Just a thought...
I would guess we do have them on this forum - several come to mind one in particular that cries to the mods whenever someone calls him out on something.
I've tried to stay out of those, I try and just post info or give kudos to whoever shows a animal they have taken when out hunting. On flipside there are some great folks on this board that keep me coming back.

Re: Just a thought...
Definatly yes!!
we on the salty dog board have decided not to mention the amount of fish we catch, allthough some will. and there is nothing wrong with that.
lot's of different people read this board...not all of them sportsmen.
IFISH, cant stop every illeagle picture or comment, but every illeagle comment or picture can be used against us sportsman as a whole.
Its the image we project that we are judged on, not really who we are.

Re: Just a thought...
I am sure it happens I was at the Serria site this morning and I read their blogs they have got hammered by hunters on some issues. I think we have experienced it here before. In some ways I think it is good because frankly I never get a chance to talk to them maybe because I surround my self by people who think like I do or that all my friends and I are clones. I welcome them Maybe we can covert them

Absolutely Alex. Should we avoid discussions just because they are watching?...NO.

I don't avoid discussions, I just don't get to involved in a discussion with them.
And ehunter I completely agree. I do a lot of backcountry stuff and some of my best frends are as green as they come, but they are strait up about it. And I will talk with them at length about it. I'm just talking about some who may "cheat toward the middle' to steer others with them....

Re: Just a thought...
I've wondered the same thing, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that there are people doing that. The sad thing, though, is that there really are a lot of hunters and gun owners who are just as bad as the antis on certain subjects. There's a lot of cognitive dissonance on these subjects and it's a bad sign when honest to god hunters are spouting the same stuff as the antis.
