Default Incredible bullet trip

For my first post, I'd like to send a special thanks to Salmonator (Joe) and Puffin for their advice and numbers provided Thurs evening for my first bullet run out of Depoe Bay on Friday accompanied by RAF Janice's spouse. She was in a meeting looking out for our interests as usual. It was awesome. Went directly to the location and hammered 'um. Had 9 on and brought 7 in, all 20+ lbs. Whew! Quit after 2.5 hours, had enough for my spouse to process this time. Besides, wanted to leave lots for the rest of the Ifish guys. Didn't want to wear out my out-of-towner welcome. My on-the-water name's Netscape, in a red/white 16' Arima (CG knows me as "17 heavy" in WB as I sneak across the bar restricted to 16' and under  ).

Been ing here for a few weeks. RAF Janice, my usual tuna & halibut fishing mate, introduced me to Ifish. Great site. Never would've known to try Depoe Bay if not for the info shared on your site. Keep up the good work!

P.S. My spouse types a lot faster than I do and she loves your Graemlins, as you can tell.

A lurker no more! Glad the coordinates worked, now maybe you could share back some info regarding how you caught so many more fish than us

Since everybody is so friendly up in your area, I figured you guys taught the tuna to be the same way to newcomers.

Actually, used 2 hand lines and 2 poles. Handlines no more than 50' out (one about 10' closer), longest line just at the end of the prop wash at between 6.5-7 mph. Had a zucc (most popular) & a white. The 2 poles had 10" broken backs, silver and white sides - very old. Had 3 hits on those, welcomed 1 on board. Hand lines took the other 6.

Netscape good report and welcome aboard! Did you use divers with the handlines?

Nope! no divers. The broken backs had a adjusted up diver to run shallow though. Did use a speckled broken back (looks just like a rainbow trout)on the way back running 3-4' deep 20' in back of the prop wash, for one hit.

Netscape, thanks for the report. Good job on chasing Charlie!! I met you on the dock with Puffin when we came in on Thursday.

Did you happen to hear how Puffin did? Just qurious, because he is fishing 3 days in a row. And I was wondering just what the heck we were going to do with all the fresh Tuna.

But knowing Big Jon, there will be alot of our good friends enjoying Tuna in the near future.

Welcome abord, my friend, and a pleasure to have met you.

We will be looking you up if ever we get down your way .

Peace, Tom

Salmonator,
Sorry it seemed like I was being vague about the color of my lure. It was zucchini color. Went to the store to replace it since I accidentally threw it in the drink without the line attached toward the end of my trip . Found the brand name Zuke, which I didn't know existed. The brand I'm using is Tuna-Clone. They're a bit heavier than a Zuke and I think better quality.

Tom,
last time I saw Puffin was that night. Maybe he caught the big one thats still dragging Pilar's outfit, and he's still playing it or vice versa .

Being retired  , I'll be heading down to Lake Havasu, AZ in October to chase strippers for 5 months .

I'll be happy to share the ins and outs of our famous WB salmon fishery with any of you good Ifish folks.

And thanks to all for your hearty greetings.
