I had just looked at it this AM, but hadn't for about 2 weeks. I was thinking you might post something. I hope it makes it up my way.

Re: Tuna Highway, June 12 - 16
Will the Spring Halibut still be open at OTC Newport??? We'll need something to fish for...it's an open back up date, I can't imagine the catch numbers from this past weekend will have much to report.

Re: Tuna Highway, June 12 - 16
Heard of some early bluefin reports with photos down south. Still not much of an albie show. Hope someone here finds a big blue. Hope it's me.

Re: Tuna Highway, June 12 - 16
Aye, Aye !!! Coos Bay is ready. Atleast one small part is almost ready. Got the boat a check out ride. Added a new Rocket Launcher set up for the top (picked up real cheap at ICAST last year), got the forward rod holder additons being machined even as we speak to set two rods at the fore end of the deck and high to keep them up and back over the blue cord. The six foot out riggers are in place, as are the commercial gurdies off my old dory with 35lb machined stainless prop shaft for trolling weights. The new ten foot wide stern bar is made drilled (2 foot intervals) and the removable mounts are in place. New power pro on the trolling reels (new) and washed rods are ready. Sent my wife and son to Eugene and Mt Hood for the week so I can play with gear. Twenty years ago it would have been play with the girls. Oh well I guess I am just getting older,( and smarter). The last thing is for this week in the evenings is to go through all the handlines, and rod set ups and untangle the sweater from the end of season last year. I am going to bring the cord lines in to about forty feet and make the longs on either side of the prop wash then get shorter to the end of the bar. The outrigger cords will be the same length as the wash lines. Then re-do the swivels and connections that need it. Finally get the flashers set up for teasing, and trolling. Maybe I am not as ready as I thought. Better get to work.

Re: Tuna Highway, June 12 - 16
Wetsand is calling for some west, southwest and south winds this week. Hopefully that will help a bit.

Salmon to be caught right now. Tuna when they show. I could do 100 miles out but why??? Soon enough is soon enough. They will get here somewhere along the coast.
