Amen! I've benefited greatly from what I've read here. My life is enriched by all I've met through this board.

I'm particularly thankful to Pilar for taking me under his wing and sharing his knowledge & his time with me personally.

Of course the downside is this addiction I've acquired (I guess only part of it is actually new - grampa used to check my toes for webs) And then there's that annoying tick anytime I hear the whisper ---- alllllbacoooooorrrre

But seriously, you guys are awesome!

Amen..Pilar....there is hardly a day fishing that I can't raise a Salty Dawg on 77.

I think this is the best board anywhere, and for those who just read....there is room for more....and I welcome new thoughts and making new friends.

Amen? Amen???

You guys (and gals) have ruined my life! No longer can I gaze placidly at the ocean (I never really did that anyway). No longer can I be content sneaking out just past the jaws or maybe even down to Seal Rock. I can't even dream of someday going out to the Rockpile.

No, no, I now look farther, my focus extending to 30, 40, even 60 miles (nautical, of course), watching for the birds, dolphins, the slap of tuna, the Ugly Green Boat....

Gawd I love this board - even though I'm still a spectator. You stir the blood.

Amen Ansi soit il! Thank you so much for talking Jen into setting up this board Pilar! And thanks for sharing your Albacore knowledge, so my first trip could be successful. And thank you for introducing me to the salt again, so I can spend so much money at Englunds. God I love that store.

Amen Brother John,

When I can't get out for lack of a ride or a boat I come here to share in the bounty of the board.

Reading about the adventures keeps me working towards my next invitation to crew and ultimately a boat that will get fellow Ifishers and me out on the big blue pond for a day of adventure.

John, You have changed many lives forever with your knowledge and enthusiasm for fishing off shore.

Thanks dude, you’re the GREATEST!

By the way, when are we gonna go Tuna fishing?

Hope it's soon,

Ray

Mr. F - Sad news for Pilar is good news for you, man... It sure looks like he's stuck in Canada for another weekend. BUT - When he comes back, he's owed a bunch of time off... and guess what?! He'll probably have an empty seat a time or two on nice days during "regular" working hours...

So, chin up, Mr. F... You're time may be right around the corner!

And guys: Post some nice things to cheer Pilar. He's a-grievin' hard right now.

Thanks!

Hi Pilar and AMEN.
I have been very impressed with Ifish and it's membership but Saly Dogs is the first place I go upon every visit. It is the topping!!! The information here seems to be boundless and the comraderie inspiring. Lately I am forced into vicarious adventure; meaning I live through the posts I read here. One day I will join you and the others in the hunt for albies. Until that day comes I will diligently be reading what is posted on the pages of the Salty Dog Forum.
Thanks to you and Kurt and of course Jennie for making this place REAL.
Greg

Default The force will guide you .. feel the force

I must say that the Salty dawgs board has exceeded even my wildest imagings.

Let's all take a minute to be thankful for a few things.

1) So many of you are of a mind to learn and try new things.

2) And then you are willing to share with whoever can read - your experiences - your passion - your knowledge and companionship.

3) Last but not least we are all being careful - traveling across the blue waters in groups and planning our trips with proper equipment and consumables accounted for.

I just want to thank you all personally for doing what you do and bringing the world of offshore fishing and boating to the casual reader and the rabid tuna dogs of the world

Feel the force my brothers and sisters, share what you know with the less experienced and live the life.

Thank you my friends!

Can I get an Amen?

A special commendation to you Pilar for your enthusiasm for the big blue and the openness to which you share information which sets the tone on this side of the website.

Every one, good job and lets keep killing fish.

Ray,

I have a sneeking hunch that Pilar just might have talked Puffin into fishing FOUR days in a row. I tried to call him this morning, and no answer. I talked to him last night . He was on his way down to the coast. His mate fished with Puffin on Saturday.

I feel your pain, my friend. I went on my first tuna trip on Thursday, and I cant wait till I can get out there again.

I believe there are going to be at least a couple of more trips for Charlie soon.

But for now, This is as close as I can get. Reading and wishing.

CYA , Tom

No those boys and girls are wore out. They got 23 yesterday. I made it to the cleaning station in Depoe Bay about halfway through the carnage asada.

Man, I hope the weather gets turned around quick.
