Default Who says Blues taste bad?

I cooked up some fillet's from the 4 foot Blue Shark I landed Monday and they were delicious. I took the advice from the Ifishers and immediately lopped off the head and bled the thing, as well as cut all the belly meat out, then threw it on ice. Got it home, cut the fillets, soaked them in milk overnight and baked them. Put them in a glass dish, poked holes in them with a fork, cut a stick of butter up in pieces and placed over the top along with slices of lemon and large amounts of garlic powder, Tony's, and Adobo seasoning. 400 degrees for 20 minutes and BAM....Delicious! Strange texture but great taste.

Good for you Corrirod! The whole key is the preparation when you first catch the shark! Your recipe sounds delicious! Wait until you catch a thresher or a mako - even better. I have not tried it smoked yet, but I have heard it is one of the best smoked fish there are.

To each his own, eat all the blue shark you want. You can have mine too.

Hi Corrirod,
Sounds like that strange texture didn't bother the taste any. So was it a blast landing a shark?
We are going out of New Port today and Sunday for some salmon and bottom fishing.
Maybe get into those big lings again  . That was somthing. We could not keep them off that day. Fun!!!!
