Charlie meet Andy, Andy meet Charlie
The forcast looked to good to pass up today so a last minute tuna trip was put into the works for today(wednesday). The hole at Depoe was to rough for me to sneek out this AM so we had to head to Newport. Never been out of Newport before for tuna to we just headed west and hoped for the best.
Beautiful water till 20 miles then we hit a fog bank that was hiding some mixed water that made the next 20 miles down right painfull. But once we broke through the other side we were in blue water, dolphins and OH YEAH Charlie tuna. The next 2 1/2 hours were spent chasing, intercepting and catching tuna.
Missy, my wife, painted a ceder plug purlple and red the night before and left it in my lunch box and thank god she did! It was producing some beatiful hits and even better a few solid hook ups.
As all good things must end, this one ended to quickly when that nasty fog bank overtook us and made us wish for dry land, so we tipped are blood splattered hats good bye to Charlie tuna for now and headed east with 5 high quality longfins and some great memories of the ones that got away.
Good luck Thursday guys,
Andy
