2002 Fishery Update
Central Oregon Coast All-depth Recreational Pacific Halibut Fishery will reopen for Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 and is proposed for Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19.
Sufficient poundage remains after the August 23rd and 24th recreational fishery for a September 20 and 21 fishery for Pacific halibut in all-depth waters between Cape Falcon and Humbug Mountain. Additionally, the remaining quota is expected to be sufficient for additional open days on September 18 and 19, subject to federal approval. Click here for catch data.
The recreational Pacific halibut fishery between Cape Falcon and Humbug Mountain remains open inside of the 30-fathom curve seven days a week. This fishery will remain open until either the quota is reached or September 30, 2002, whichever occurs first.
The Oregon recreational Pacific halibut fishery also remains open in all-depth waters south of Humbug Mountain seven days a week.
The Pacific halibut fishery between Cape Falcon, OR and Leadbetter Point, WA closed due to quota attainment at midnight on Saturday, May 25, 2002.
The daily bag limit is the first fish 32 inches or longer and the annual limit is six Pacific halibut. The possession limit is one fish at sea and two fish on land.
