Default North Fork REZ 6/14 (sat)

(I posted this on another forum but thought I would post it here too)

Last trip up to north fork this year took my dad and brother out and boy was it a good one.

First and foremost I think that NFR should be 10mph or less. When everyone on the lake is fishing and trolling all over the place, people trolling every way you can imagine and somebody comes along water skiing. They should just go someplace were everyone is doing the same thing instead of a making a chaotic boat navigators nightmare. The second thing is I do not care HOW FAST YOUR BOAT CAN GO

The lake was good today we got limits again 3rd time started around 6.45 and fished until 1. The ticket for me here is trolling rooster tails but saw some good action with a smaller steelhead spoon do not mess with flashers and such in my opinion just long line it and TROLL FAST! The color (green / rainbow and size (small-1/8 oz)have seemed to be very important as well as the time. Early day from sunup to noon is when the fish seem to be more active, I imagine its because of there hatchery feeding time, Also if you launch at the promotory park do not mess around with fishing that area. Motor up and go just past the second boat ramp to the west and troll around the dam area and hug the logs and bank the whole time. North fork is deep with 1 really visible nasty stump but its like 5 feet deep 5 feet from the bank almost everywhere if you make the second boat ramp your turning point and just troll around the damn area and hug the banks and the logs you will do ok. I hope that helps at least one person.

Sounds like you had a great day.
I love to fish up there, I troll from the tunnel down past the lower boat ramp and then make a wide turn and go back up and do it again.
On fairly nice days I get off the water early. like you said all the "go-fasters" and jet skier show up and make it a real pain.
Only thing worse than a boat racing thru a bunch of trollers is when they have a stereo blasting. I too would like to see it with reduced speed.

Is the resevoir still a no wake zone from the boat launch/store all the way upriver? It used to be 5 mph max in that area. The speed bouys werent there last year and I had to deal with jet skiers and speed boats.
