Default Tuna Report

I just called the AssAssin at Depoe Bay and he said it is very foggy and blowing 20 knots there (4:45pm). The stonewall is gusting to 9.7 (4:00pm) and the Newport jetty is at 18 knots. Three boats went out of Depoe and the Tackle Buster (according to the assassin) was high boat with 7 fish. They were fishing with other boats from Newport on the 45 line about 32 miles out of Depoe. Fish were the nicer grade, but fishing was spotty at best. The weather sounds doable tomorrow, but the fish don't seem like they want to cooperate. I am going to check conditions again at midnight or 3:00 am and make a final decision. If its a go, I will run out of Depoe and bring down the current SST pics and the newest weather info. I thought I read that a number of ifishers were going to camp in the launching area, so if I am not there by 5:30............I will be doing chores so I can put interest in the bank so when the fish are really here, I can start drawing out my interest.

Good Luck to all you venture out!!

Marty,

Here's the scoop for tomrrow... I am riding with Gregorits98, who will be sleeping in the parking lot. Seasquid was packing his boat to head down when I talked to him around 4:30, he will be sleeping in the lot as well. Corrirod said he was going to be there as well but thats a couple of days old, and no one has been able to reach him today. We depart at 5 to 5:30 and head towards the 66 degree spot. Note: last weekend we did well, even though we only fished 57-58 degree water I think puffin was out of Newport tommrrow and going to call us on 77. Hope to see you there!

UG.

Miss B Haven took me and some others out Saturday from Astoria. We saw a temp break about 35 miles out where it jumped from 53 to 58 or so. We pulled gear out a bit further, but the temp started dropping again. Seas were sloppy and building so we turned tail after several hours. Our hopes were high at first since we had 3 hook ups in the first 5 minutes or so, but we never really found the school. But, just so you recall what you're looking for, here's part of our take.
