How's this happen?
Ok, you point summary guru's, explain this. I put in for the Whitehorse #1 antelope hunt and was in the unlucky 40% that didn't draw with 11 points, but how could the one guy with 12 points not draw?? It shows 3-3 for 13 points, 35-34 for 12 points and 107-61 for 11 points. I would be peeved it I was that 12 point guy!!!

Re: How's this happen?
Hey Rank,
I just joined the 11 point club for antelope! I guess that means that my next shot at getting a tag will be when I'm at the Shady Nook Rest Home thinking about the good old days when gas was only $4.17 gallon!
Oh yeah, did I mention I got blanked for all other tags as well. It looks like Coyote Burger this year!

Re: How's this happen?
So he was the #35 guy, the only one not to draw with 12 points.

Yes, but how, they fill the slots by points, they should have filled all the 12 point people and then started with us guys with 11 points??
Hey Rusty, we should partner up next year, well put in for the same unit, I can show you where to get a speed goat. Maybe I will draw next year with 12 points, but my luck I will the the one guy not to draw. Dang, sucks be on the black list.

one of the applicants with 12 points was a nonresident. 34 with 12 where residents and the 1 was a out of state applicant

Re: How's this happen?
It's still by a certain % at that point. I forget the actual odds/breakdown. he's certainly the unlucky one.

Actually, it was not a "percentage game" or "luck of the draw" at that point! 3 tags for those with 13pts and 34 tags for those with 12 points only equals 37 tags. 75% of the 125? tags is appro. 80 tags.....................so, my guess would be that he was a non res because if it was a res. that applied with a non res, I think it would show that 2 people did not draw.....assuming they both had 12 points each. The only thing I am not sure of is if a non res and a res applied, I wouldn't think they would separate the two and give a tag to the res and not the non res.....................I think the entire application (both hunters) would get kicked out????? not sure though. anyone know? Sorry you didn't get chosen Rank.............Next year for sure.

Re: How's this happen?
I agree wheels, it should not be a percentage at that point, especially when they gave out tags to the next point group lower. I'm not sure this one was a non-resident, they have two columns if I read that right and this was a resident. I could be wrong and this guy would have been the odd man out after 6 non-residents tagged out.
So do they do the point draw first or the 25% pool first? For a non-resident that could be a big deal.

Re: How's this happen?
Looked at the numbers again. 35 residents-34 drew with 12 points, but 4 non-residents applied and only 3 drew and it looks like the max number for the point draw for non-residents was 3. So yes, if a resident partnered up with a non-resident, it looks like they threw him out along with the non-resident. The question now though is why only 3 non-resident tags? Shouldn't the 75% point pool have 75% of the tags? That should have been 5 tags. 131 total tags.

it's the only lottery I like to play. Could it be a lot of Hart Mt hopefuls are having second thoughts?

Re: How's this happen?
The guy could have applied with someone, even a resident who had LESS points than him which would of brought his average down. It would still list his point total at thirteen.
