Mike, I hear ya. I'm sure the $150 USB turntable won't have as good a stylus as my turntable with it's $100 Shure, (and I don't know if you can even swap out the stylus on the new USB units?).
I was just looking for something easy since I got rid of my NAD pre-amp and don't know anything about what parameters are needed for the PC's audio card to do this task well.
Everything's a tradeoff................
Including ITunes. Good for the mass produced music, but I checked and lot's of my LPs are not available, and the bootlegs I have never will be!
