I wish I was living down there in the area, maybe I should ask to be transfered to Beaverton, since our head quarter is over there, Micro Power Electronics.

Re: Open Seat for tomorrow
Sorry QH'sPaw, didn't think the seat would be snatched up so quickly. Had figured to call you and ask if you were working or not. But it worked out ok, Flippingbaits & I had been trying to get out and we finally did.
He's a super young man and we had fun. Pleasure fishing with you Barrett. He even tied into a springer on a crank. We almost had it in the net and then it did a little roll and ran, only to snap the line. SHOOT! Beautiful fish too, 10-12lb Sorry buddy, maybe I should'a took a swat at it w/ the net. Would'a, could'a, should'a. Hindsight is always 20/20.
Pretty slow, cold, looked like rain any minute. Got checked by the marine patrol and they said the temp was 49F. Huh? I had it pegged for about 55F. (my Lowrance was acting up, turning it's self on/off and making quite a racket.) We caught maybe a dozen or dozen & half between us. Biggest fish was ~2lb, maybe a hair over. (snapped a cell pho0ne pic but haven't figured how to get them off and on the puter yet.) A couple 1.5's and the rest dinks. Craw cranks seemed to be the ticket. Couldn't get anything on tubes on the current seams. Kinda a little weird morning, fish seemed a bit off.
Oh... we fished out of the sled today. Still ran down one battery real good, even trying to use the anchor as much as possible. Still lots of current, but water color was good. Visibility probably around 3-4ft. Just need a little more water temp.
Can't fish Friday, too much testing at work. Saturday wifey has 20yr Anniversary plans for us. Sunday, she "suggested" she'd really like me to stay home and spend it w/ her.
We'll see. But that was why I just HAD to fish today. If nothing more than to get Roger off my butt for not being "dedicated" enough!
Sure wish the water would warm.
Hunt'nFish
PS: oh I used the new Quantum Accurist's w/ ACS today. Spooled w/ 12lb PLine CXX. Boy man I'm in love with it. I like that Adjustable Centrifugal System. Sure works great. My casts were a lot farther, probably 1/3 farther. And very few Professional Over-runs. Might have to look in the Energy's, I hear they are even better than these Accurists.

Re: Open Seat filled: Willy Report, 6/12/08
like to thank Mike aka Hunt'nFish for the trip to the willy. First trip out on the willy, and first time really targeting the smallies hard. Been chasing largemouths in lakes all my life, boy to I have a lot to learn about smallies. Learned a ton today and had a blast. Mike was a geat guy and we had some fun. His dog is a kick too. But a little upset we werent able to bring more fish for him to sniff .
Mike gave a good report. Would like to add that was able to hook up with my first smallie on a 4.5 inch magic worm. (very similar to a roboworm). Had it texas rigged. That was in very slack water however, didn't try it with the strong current much. Carp were rolling over all over the place, and even got to see a Osprey nail a ********* about 20 yards away. Chalk a point up for the osprey!
A little upset that i wasn't able to catch Mike dinner with that salmon, but it was a fun experience none the less. Had it to the boat, it didn't even put up a fight, then saw the net and the boat and wanted nothing of us. I turned the drag down a bit (yes im sure i turned it the right way ) and then a couple jumps and turns and my suffix line was snapped . Never use suffix line again! haha
Also would like to add that quantum reel mike picked up is amazing. Had great retriveal rate, and boy did it cast. He was casting another 10-15yards farther than me. I blame it on the real, not my skills . But agree that the reel was very slick
thanks again Mike!
i will be keeping my heads up for an open seat again! but next time i'll land that dinner

Hey Mike, I have ATT and just send pics from my phone to my home computer. Not sure how other carriers do it but I am sure it's similar. If you have ATT PM me if you would like to know how to do this and I will give you the straight skinny on it. Bill

After spending all day Saturday with you, I can't figure out why she would even want to see you on Sunday.
Good report Mike.
Thanks

Re: Open Seat filled: Willy Report, 6/12/08
I launched out of Newberg aroung noon, got a late start. Fished normal spots upriver from the ramp and landed only a couple of 2lb bucks. Fish appeared to be stacked in their pre-staging areas I normally fish in April. I did not hook any in shallower spawning areas. Is it consensus that they have spawned?
Water about 52 and all the usual spots are in high water. I spent most of the afternoon fishing areas between Newberg ramp and mouth of Molalla that I always passed by on caught a couple of small largemouth. I picked areas with partially submerged structure and out of the main current.
A strange year, wanted to fish a couple of sloughs but they already had boats in them.

I have been catching a mixed bag. Some have and some haven't. Can't really give you a % but I can say that some are for sure still prespawn.

Re: Open Seat filled: Willy Report, 6/12/08
All our bigger fish were females still full w/ eggs. Tight to shore did not produce. All in water 10-30ft deep. Of course I'm guessing a little on the depth since the Lowrance was malfuntioning. But I have a pretty good idea, since I fish these waters a fair bit.
I think were gonna see the spawn drug out over 2-3 moon phases.
Oh, yes I have ATT on the cell. I don't pay for email capability...at least it tells me I have to sign up and agree to payment/billing terms. I have a micro SD chip in it, can I just pull the chip and pop it in the puter?
I have a pile of waterfowl pics I need to get off it as well.

You can pop it out and put it in the computer, but only if you have the larger shell for it to fit into. Most computers dont have a micro sd drive.
