Went out of Newport this morning, headed for the lighthouse out 30 fathom. Water temp was 49. To cold, trolled out to 225 ft. water was 50 and nailed a 20 lb. chinook. Went out further and the water warmed up more . marked lots of fish on the fish finder but could only catch a big silver. Trolled back into 225 ft. and 50 deg. and caught another chinook and I was done. There are some fish out there. A few commercial boats were out at 40 fathom. Didn't see any other sport boats out where I was. Great water till about 1:00, then the wind started to pick up a little. Fine day to fish, my last for a while. Archery season opens saturday. Gotta fill the freezer with something besides fish.
