Default Garibaldi 8/18

Well I guess it was a good day. I "hooked" 7 fish..............however my boat had some sort of bad mojo because I only landed 2 of them and one was a beautiful 13-14lb. coho and the other was a mini-nook (too small). :depressed:

I don't know, I guess the gods were just humbling me because I had umpteen-zillion takedowns and I just couldn't get a fish to the boat! I sharpened all my hooks, changed rigs numerous times, and they all attracted fish but I just couldn't get any good hookups. One of the fish I did hook was a 20+lb'er that I fought for about 5 minutes.

Oh well, the water was pretty calm, no chop/5ft. swell till about 10am then by noon it was 3ft.chop/7ft. swell and was getting annoying so I came in. Hope everyone else has better luck!

Oh yeah, I was fishing with a downrigger at 50ft. all day which seemed to be a good depth. Lots of strikes. Used plug cut herring, whole herring, purple/blue/pink hootchie with herring head trailer, and (new secret weapon) which all worked well, except for the hooking part. :depressed:
