Hey Pilar,
I was wondering if you still had the numbers for the hali hole you put us in with Stoyjun a couple of weeks ago? I have a friend at work who is planning a trip out next weekend..
Thanks

Re: numbers
Sure, let me consult the plastic hey zeus on the boat dashboard, when I get home.
All you have to do is fish for Salmon and you wil catch the dang Halibut! I'd go but the tag is full. Any more offshore this year for me will involve the Albacore and a flat ocean.

What, no 5 and 5 for you and your boat? I got so sick last time out, and it wasn't rough at all. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Re: numbers
I heard or read of your episode... Hope all is ok.... Get your window fixed? It looked as if the conditions weren't helping the fishing any at all... We are floating the Deschuttes tomorrow... I guess where we are gong is near the retardant spill, so we'll have to keep an eye on that. I guess all in fall river are dying and it hit the deschuttes last night... We'll see you all Sunday evening.

Re: numbers
Tag-a-long, here are the numbers for halibut-troll on the north end of the pile.
N44 34 966 W124 23 863
or
N44 35 013 W124 24 091
We did well at 100ft in 200+ feet of water. The hot rig was a whole fresh Yaquina herring, rotary salmon killer and an 18" Abe and Al flasher about 30 feet back from the downrigger. Also a trolling weight and a mooching rig like above worked too. It is very difficult to determine depth when you use the weight setup. Mark the line with a bobber stop?
A wind drift will work as long as the bait has some action, otherwise troll slow with the kicker. No kings that day not even a strike, but the water was brown and cold. Oh and the electric field generator was on the downrigger wire and turned on. About +0.6v dc.
The bottom is this general area gave up some really nice lings and small butts. The big butts were up from the bottom at least 100 ft.
Good luck and happy hunting.

Thanks Pilar. I am not going to make this weekend, but some of the guys from work are heading out Thursday to get an early start towards Newport. You all be safe. Are you hunting Nooks this weekend?

Re: numbers
Hey Lepper, I'd love to but have other commitments this weekend. This is the first time ever that I put 6 FBs on the catch record for the year.
What a year it has been.....
Tag a long, no nookie for me. My mate has the saltwater jones, specifically Tuna fixation. Can't understand how wacking 36 tuna on your cherry tuna trip would leave you little else to obsess on.

Re: numbers
RJ, I'm with you! Lots of colorful fins... Or a bill. I'm not picky!
I wonder if there's much of a chance the ocean will be kind to us in, oh, say October? I think it would only be fair since this summer it has been so bumpy on the weekends!
Pilar, can you think of a better B-Day present?
Oh, I'm a WISHpering now...

Re: numbers
Jen, you can have a tuna day anytime it is possible, no need to wait for birthday fish.
It would be an honor and a privilege to take you back to the mother ........

But wouldn't birthday fish be fun? We could even bring candles and sing to eachother... Big Jon, too.
