Default animals in the attic- property management RANT

Okay so what is the deal here I submit a work order to the property management office the sink leaks, the shower has issues, there are birds nested in the attic and possibly something bigger. The guy shows up and fixes the hardware with a happy face but tells us that if he puts out traps or poisons the management company is going to charge us for his service!

I didnt invite the birds! Im not feeding them! it is not my fault they are there, why is it suddenly my financial responsibility to keep the roof vents secure and the attic free of vermin?

its not like I am asking them to come deal with an ant problem because my kids cant wipe down the counters properly. these are uninvited animals that are VERY NOISY! and have come from no negligence or or mafeasance of our own doing.

is this legal? I know its not ethical as I pay my full rent on time every month. any suggestions or known solutions?

They absolutely have the obligation to take care of your problem. Here is a link for you, good luck.

Beat me to it. I hear he is repainting the doors so no one will know it's his house(s)!

Just to clear things up I DO NOT Rent from Kip and would never!

I am mostly happy with Sterling Property Management. This is the first thing they have failed to repair in less than a week of it being reported. I just dont get why they would rather let damage happen then fix a problem before it gets serious? how hard is it to repair the wire mesh and throw some decon in the attic? I just dont get what some people consider a "Cost savings"

my name is Paul Weatherford (just to satisfy the AUP)
