Default Short range units

I was wondering what the regulations were on muzzle loaders in short range weapon units. I dont know if you have to follow all of the general regulations when using a muzzle loader such as no scope or no shotgun 209 primers in a short range weapon unit like the Willamette unit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there are any short range weapon units. There are a few places that only allow shotgun or bow but they are not entire units. You can't use a muzzleloader at all in them as far as I know.

What Joe said...

Weapon restrictions are by hunt number rather than by hunt unit. To the best of my knowledge, pistols, shotguns and muzzleloaders are legal during all rifle hunts but certain areas within a unit may have short range limitations for shotgun or archery only. For those hunts, rifles and muzzleloaders are not legal. I recommend that you read the Big Game Regs to determine exactly what's legal in the area you're interested in hunting.
