Newport Nooks

Whats the lastest word on Nooks outside of Newport? General location? Ocean looks friendly for a Sunday (tomorrow) adventure.

I'm thinking as long as we get across the Yaquina bar by 0600 we should be fine.

See post halingnookbacore... The "Pilar" could not locate nooks yesterday off Newport. I'll post when I get a report from today's adventure.

Hey WaterDog,
I skippered my neighbors boat out of Newport this morning. I saw Pilar at the ramp but he was heading out before I could ask him his advice. We hit a non existant bar and trolled a calm ocean about 3 miles out from the light house without a bump. I talked to a couple of other boats in the area but nada from what I saw today. Head for the rockpile and bring the ugly stick. I will e-mail you the info :grin: I am going to hit the CR buoy with KillerTraylor in the morning. You ought to bag the Newport thing and meet us in Ilwaco, the ocean is looking friendly.....
