Glad to hear some of you plan to attend
I get to be the one who takes notes and runs the tape recorder at the 2003 regs meetings...OH Boy, aren't I lucky? It should be interesting! I'm also glad to see that you folks have been doing your homework. I'm a sport fisher too, and I have concerns about our options. I just hope this all ends on a positive note. We're trying to make this as proactive as possible.

Hello Mr Snakebite, so how did you get so lucky as to be the note-taker - do you work for ODFW or Sea Grant?
See you there,
Mark Mc

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">I work for Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission at the Newport ODFW office for Mark Saelens who is on the council, along with being the ODFW liaison for the NMFS groundfish observer program. I basically am the logistic and data interface between NMFS and ODFW. The reason I have to be the "recorder" is because I was out out of the room momentarily during a planning meeting when "they" decided who was to have that role. Oh well, it all pays the same. Be looking forward to meeting you.

Boy, to qualify for being the "logistic and data interface between NMFS and ODFW", wouldn't one have just about walk on water?
It has been tradition at my workplace for ages that he or she who is not at the meeting, naturally gets volunteered for the "best" action items.
Cheers.... Mark

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Well, it isn't easy, and sometimes it isn't fun. But at the risk of saying it's job security, I feel it's a good place to be. My experience and familarity with what's going on has led me here. I grew up on a timber economy that led led me here from the standpoint of potential sustainable resources. I stand ON the fence!

Re: Glad to hear some of you plan to attend
Hey snakebite, we're glad to have you on the job and I'm with Mark when I say that I sympathize.... those who miss the meetings get assigned the actions required. But I'm so glad to hear you step forward and let us know that you're going to be there with us. We promise to make our testimony easy on you note taking fingers, how's that?
Be sure to say "howdy" at the meetings, k? don't want to make things difficult for you at all, but we'd love to put a face with the name and pump your arm for sure!
