Hello,
My name is Bruce and I own the Julie Rose III parked at South Beach. She's a 4788 Bayliner Motoryacht. I believe that I've probably talked to some of you on the docks. I happened onto this site some time ago, and visit it frequently. I've never participated in boards or chat rooms, but after finding this many guys talking about what I love to do, I decided to give it a try. When you're over there, and have time, it would be great to meet some of you in person. I'm a fanatic at Saltwater Fishin', and have been known to have a few cold brews on board. See Ya!

Hi Bruce,
Are you the white Bayliner w/ black canvas on the A dock? The one that runs with the "Persistance" sometimes?
Welcome!
One of the rules is you have to tell some (questionable) story's about your fishing adventures.

Thanks for the welcome Pilar & Guys,
I changed my password and something got messed up, just got back on line.
Well... The Story.... About 5 years ago, my son and I were fishin' for buts on Harrisons Ridge. After about 30 mins, I get a tug and set the hook. It was big, but I could tell it wasn't a but. 40 mins later we see it's a skate with about a 6' wingspan. Arms on fire and hot drag washers, I rebait and send it back down. No sooner than it hit the bottom and BAM! This time I could feel that it had some shoulders on it.... Big But! 20 mins and I have this boy up to the boat, and none too soon because Popeye's arms feel more like Olive Oils. Note... this is the last trip before I buy my Halibut Harpoon... In those days we used a Thompson Contender w/ 410 shot. oops out of space.

Continued---- My son shoots the fish and it heads back to the bottom. In disbeleif I start the grueling process all over. 15 mins later, she's back at the boat and another pop from Mr. Thompson. This time it takes off across the top of the water, turns back and rams the boat...Hard! One more shot and she's in the boat... 82#! Ten mins later, I back that up with a 68#er. Remember those days when you could catch two?
