Default Ready set.... Salt water goodies!

I have a packet of Salt water goodies here that I would like to give away.

Be the first back here with the correct answer, and I'll send you the package!
If you have won a contest in the last month, let someone else have a try.

Here is the question:

According to Pilar, what is a snubber and how long is it?

Find the answer in one of his posts on Tuna Handlines, and have fun!

Ready, set....... Have at it!

Thanks, Pilar, you are smart! I didn't know what that was! What a lucky girlfriend you have!

Jen

It's to allow a tuna line to stretch (and not break or tear out the hook) and a 20" rubber bungee (32" stretched) is commonly used. (Bicycle inner tubes work too).

Drifty was first, but didn't tell me what it was. Ms. B Haven supplied both answers, therefore, Ms, you got it!
Sorry, Drifty!
Both send me your addie, and I'll send the main prize to Ms, and another to Drifty!
Include your moniker with your address. Send it to: captain@ifish.net
Look for some awesome OWNER hooks, along with other goodies!
Jen

A snubber is attached between the main line and the downrigger cable. the snubber is usally will have a swivle at each end one to the main line for the lure and the other attached to the downrigger clip. it is then lowered . Approximite length is 16 to 18 inches.
It is used to obsorb the strike, lessining the the possibility of line break.

So Jennie:

I'm disqualifying myself from this but a clarifying question: Do you want to know what a snubber is and how long it is? Or are you looking for what is a snubber stop and long it is?

P.S. Personally, I happen to think it is Pilar who is the lucky one.

Lucky Pilar? Beyond luck!!! How did he hook you?

I wanted to know what a snubber is.

I took it from his "Tuna Gear... handline" post where he states:

Quote:
the snubber is a truck bungee cord at 20" long
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Sorry if it is confusing... These contests aren't that easy to run!

I try!

Jen
